- Do not move your home more than once. Despite it’s name, a mobile home is not meant to be moved from home site to home site. Most lenders will not lend on a home that has been moved more than once.
- Do not cut into or remove any walls. Cutting into the property can destroy the structural integrity of the home.
- Do not remove or cover up the HUD Certification label. this is a 2″x 4″ metal tag that is affixed to the outside of the home. there are 2 labels on a double wide. If the label is missing the lender will require you to get home verification in order to sell the home. - Don’t remove the data plate from your home. Every home built since 15 June 1976 has a data plate pasted somewhere in the home. Some places that it can be found are under a sink, in the laundry room or in the master closet.
- Don’t remove your home and install a new one without notifying the county. Higher taxes may be due on the new home and if not paid they will come due when you try to sell the property.
